| Limited Liability
The rules and limitations regarding liability are set by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Costa Rica. The company reserves the right to cancel or postpone a journey free of liability on its part, when it must attend attend preferential obligations such as the transfer of sick or injured persons, due to bad weather, or for any cause for which it deems the suspension necessary, for passenger safety or to protect the Company's interests. As a consequence, Macaw Air is not obligated to transport the passenger on the precise day indicated on this ticket for the trip or for a specified flight. Furthermore, it reserves the right of not accepting passengers that arrive for the flight in abnormal circumstances that may place security of the remaining passengers at risk, or that may cause them any type of nuisance.
Ticket Conditions, Cancellations& Ticket Changes
Cancellations and changes are accepted up to 24 hours prior to the flight departure time free of charge. Cancellations or changes made less than 24 hours prior to a flight will result in a penalty equal to the total cost of the one way fare, less the applicable fees and taxes. All reservations are non refundable. Fares cancelled more than 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time will be placed in a customer credit file for future flights with Macaw Air. Credit files are valid for 1 year from the date the original reservation was canceled. Name changes are done at no charge. Please note that flight changes may be subject to a difference in fares that must be paid at the time of the change.
Check In
We recommend that customers check in with a member of the Macaw Air staff no alter than 30 minutes prior to the departure time. Failure to check in 15 minutes prior to the departure time may result in a no-show penalty in which the passenger forfeits their entire fare and may also result in the cancellation of other reservations held by the passenger. Cancellation fees may also apply. Passengers will be required to produce valid picture ID upon check in.
Baggage Allowance
Maximum luggage allowance is 25 lbs per person including carry-on. Excess luggage will be charged at \$0,55per lbs. Macaw Air may refuse baggage on the basis of excessive volume or safety reasons. Surfboards and oversize baggage is prohibited unless otherwise stated by Macaw Air.
Loss of Baggage
The indemnification to be paid by the Company in the case of lost luggage will not be greater than the corresponding fare for the segment of the trip where the loss of luggage occurred, unless the Company has obligated separately and in writing to a greater indemnification and charges are paid for it. The company will receive special luggage, such as fragile and/or delicate articles, without liability for damage, deterioration, or partial or total loss.
Itineraries
Itineraries are subject to change without prior notice to the passengers and with no responsibility for the carrier. Carrier will not be responsible for any losses or damages caused by the delay, anticipation, suspension, or cancellation of any flight due to: fortuitous events, adverse weather conditions, mechanical difficulties, or when the carrier decides so for security reasons or to protect the company's interests.
